All businesses have (or should have) a business model….on how the business functions.
On the Internet….there are different business models on sharing and publishing information. Most publishers publish freely….a few others use a paid subscription….the Wall Street Journal the best example.
Crain’s Detroit Business also uses a paid subscription model. Publishers have to find many different revenue sources in today’s World Wide Web environment. With the challenges facing Detroit….perhaps Crains needs another model to publish its news. With broader coverage….there is always the opportunity to get greater inputs on making businesses (and communities) better in a rapidly changing economy.
