We keep good track of medical bills and Explanation of Benefits. For the most part…..they are correct.
However, it also means being alert to each statement. We had three visits to a specialist. Co-paymernts made…..Humana pays the negotiated balance. Two months later….a statement for a visit on another date…..not ours.
Called the billing center…..they verified we were not at the specialist on that particular date. They will make the correction.
This month another statement same billing date with a completely different amount. Again called the billing center and fortunately spoke to the same person as before. Explanation…..they did not make the correct reversing entry to Humana.
Outcome: wait another two monthe to see if correction made or another breakdown in the system.
